Today’s your lucky day because Google has just announced that its premium video conference tool, Google Meet, is going to be free for everyone starting early May.
Before this, Google Meet was only accessible to people who have signed up for the company’s enterprise solution, G Suite.
But now, regular users can take advantage of the tools provided like scheduling, screen sharing real-time captions, and layouts which can be altered based on your preference.
Vice president of G Suite Javier Soltero said, “With the lines blurred between work and home, Google Meet can offer the polish needed for a work meeting, a tiled view for your online birthday party and the security needed for a video call with your doctor.
“We’re in the middle of a significant worldwide shift impacting communication from the workplace to schools to the home. People want familiar, secure tools that they can use across all facets of their lives.”
